Our Story
The vision of this company became a reality when our owner Valda McKinney-Sturrup decided she wanted to launch a home based jewelry and accessory company catering to women from all walks of life. Finding quality fashion jewelry on a budget always appeared to be a challenge in high-end stores. That is when Valda aka Madam KT got the idea and invited her very creative and talented friend Lady Ranique Murphy; to join forces with her to additionally offer unique pieces that were hand-made but also affordable. Her vision came to life with a combined investment of 100.00 to purchase their international business license from The Bahamas where both women are native to. It took another small investment purchasing some jewelry to sell and display at the launch party in June, 2011. Their first official event together was a Bahamian inspired theme to celebrate Bahamian Independence day. Together they designed custom tanks with iron-on yellow and aqua lace, headbands, necklaces and earrings. Their second event was a breast cancer fundraiser themed "Show Your Love for Pink" Jewelry & Accessory Auction. On display were two pink store bought statement necklaces and a few hand-made clutches designed by Lady Murphy; which were kept to be apart of our vintage vault for the future. Both events sealed the passion Madam KT had for fashion and now as the sole Proprietor we are grateful to God to still be standing even stronger after 12 years in business. 2021 made a monumental 10th year Anniversary for us but we did not get to celebrate being mindful of the pandemic. We'll take a raincheck on that one!
